What We Do
Some Objects Deserve a More Considered Approach
Movie Poster Works provides custom framing for posters, artwork, photographs, paper collectibles, and meaningful objects that deserve a careful approach.
Each project begins with a conversation about the piece, its condition, its story, and how it should be displayed. The goal is a presentation that looks right, protects what matters, and respects the object itself.
Some projects call for restraint. Others need a stronger design presence, deeper materials, specialty glazing, or a more considered mounting approach. The right answer depends on the object, the room, and the reason the piece matters in the first place.
Original & Vintage Movie Posters
One-sheets, lobby cards, and foreign releases handled with the care they deserve.
Art, Prints & Works on Paper
Artist proofs, lithographs, giclées, and original works.
Family Photographs & Inherited Pieces
Heirlooms and personal history preserved for the next generation.
Collectibles & Display Objects
Shadowbox and object framing for items with personal or historical significance.
Why It Matters
The Frame Is Not Just Decoration
How a piece is framed determines how it is protected, displayed, interpreted, and experienced — for years and for generations. Poor material choices and improper mounting can contribute to fading, discoloration, staining, surface contact, and long-term condition problems. The right choices extend the life of the piece and elevate its presence.
PRESERVATION PRINCIPLES
What Thoughtful Framing Considers
Preservation-minded framing is not one material or one method. It is a series of choices made around the object, its condition, its value, and how it will be displayed.
Archival Materials
Mats, backings, and substrates selected to avoid unnecessary acid, lignin, adhesive, or material-transfer risks.
Conservation Glazing
UV-filtering, anti-reflective, or museum-quality glazing selected based on the piece, the room, and the desired viewing experience.
Mounting Methods
Mounting approaches chosen with the object’s condition, reversibility, weight, surface, and long-term care in mind.
Mat & Frame Design
Proportions, reveals, color, texture, and frame profile selected to support the piece rather than overpower it.
Spacing & Breathing Room
Proper separation between the object and glazing to reduce contact risk, surface transfer, and condensation-related concerns.
Planning for the Future
Construction choices that allow the piece to be examined, removed, conserved, or reframed later when appropriate.
THE STUDIO EXPERIENCE
Appointment-Only, by Design
"Bring the piece, the story, and any concerns you have. We will discuss design and preservation options in person."
Movie Poster Works works by appointment so that every project receives the attention it requires. There is no counter, no queue, and no pressure to decide on the spot. A consultation is a real conversation.
We will look at the piece together — its condition, its history, its display environment — and work through design and preservation options at your pace. Some framing decisions take time. We respect that.
Restoration needs can be discussed during the consultation. When appropriate, we can coordinate with qualified outside specialists. Movie poster valuation and market context may also be part of the conversation, though formal appraisals are not the primary service.
Movie posters occupy a unique place in the world of collectibles — part graphic art, part cultural artifact, part personal history. A one-sheet from the right year, in the right condition, with the right frame, becomes something that holds the room.
We approach movie poster framing with the same rigor applied to fine art. Original paper, linen-backed, folded, or rolled — each format has its own requirements. We discuss condition, display goals, and long-term preservation before a single material is selected.
Who This Is For
For Collectors, Artists, Families & Meaningful Objects
Movie Poster Works is for people who understand that some objects deserve careful, considered presentation — not speed, not convenience, not the lowest available price.
Collectors
Movie poster and film memorabilia collectors who understand condition, provenance, and the value of proper preservation framing.
Artists & Print Makers
Artists who want their own work — or work they admire — framed with the same care they brought to making it.
Families with Inherited Pieces
Families preserving photographs, documents, and objects that carry personal or historical weight across generations.
Collectors of Objects & Memorabilia
Anyone with a meaningful object — signed, worn, found, or inherited — that deserves a shadowbox presentation and a proper home.
Shadowbox & Object Framing
Object Framing Without the Trophy-Case Feel
Not everything worth framing is flat. Shadowbox and object framing can be a strong option for pieces connected to concerts, films, performances, artists, personal milestones, and collected history.
Movie Poster Works is especially well suited for entertainment and collector-oriented pieces: concert memorabilia, backstage passes, ticket stubs, signed items, small props, promotional materials, textiles, and objects connected to a larger story.
The goal is not simply to place an object in a box. The goal is to create a presentation that protects the item, gives it visual presence, and respects why it matters.
If you have a dimensional piece connected to a film, concert, artist, event, collection, or personal story, bring it in and we can discuss what a proper display might look like.
