2010: Charles Sr. opens Grumpa’s Antiques and Collectibles in Victoria, TX. specializing in glass, furniture, and the Texas famous steel “teeter-totters”. Charles Sr. holds first show at Carmine in the Fall of 2016 surrounded by cottonwoods and vista like views.
2015: Charles Jr. opens Movie Poster Works to bring unique movie posters to the online market place. Operates in combination with Pulpfixin, a linenbacking and restoration enterprise. Charles holds a movie poster showcase of restoration work in 2017 at Grumpa’s. Both effort go dormant in 2018 with the opening of Stevens Technical Services – a civil engineering firm.
2024: Charles Jr. purchases Chappell’s House Of Pictures & Frames and starts effort to open 2,400 sqft Custom Picture Frame Shop and Gallery in Houston, TX next to Stevens Technical Services on Jackrabbit Rd. and three large pine trees. Construction will begin early 2026. Charles is selected to present at the West Cost Art and Frame Expo in February 2026.
2025: Charles Jr. concieves the concept of dual operations one under the pines of Houston and the other under the cottonwoods of Carmine. Cottonwood Pines, is born and holds a preview show with original art and fine prints at the 2025 Fall Carmine-Rountop Show. Grumpa’s Antiques holds final show after 15 years in Antiques and over 35 years in collectibles (read more on Charles Sr.). Renovations are in the works to add parking in the front and a larger entrance.
